Where are the updates?

In case you wondered why there haven't been updates for a while...

I have been asked by a state-side representative of the family to wait on posting any other news at this time. Good cooperation has been received from officials and I understand that it is the belief of the family that some efforts should be allowed to take their courses.

If I get official news that I am asked to post, I will do so as soon as I can. I follow the wishes of the Chicovsky family.

Hi, I am a student at WWU and am going to Kunming this summer. I never knew Ryan personally , but all of my teachers care about him very much and always spoke about him and his ability to learn chinese very highly. I think he may be the reason that the Kunming program was kept open to first-year Chinese students like me. I wanted to you to know also that my boyfriend is your tennant, Dan Farmer. Together we have been sending letters and posting on forums for the past few weeks. I forwarded an email with all the addresses to over 40 people and many of them wrote back and said they had sent it on as well. I don't know anybody in foreign contries, but a lot of the people who had sent letters were from Michigan and other states...so they aren't just hearing from Washington. I'm so sorry that you had to return home with no definite answer. If there is anything further that either Dan or I can take care of for you over in Bellingham, please don't hesitate to contact one of us.

I am a friend of Ryan's (Cheeks) from Bellingham. He is he most intruguing and open hearted person I know. I think about him and his family everyday and pray for new news of where he might be.
I am a little confused. Is this potinf supposed to say she returned "to" or "from" Xieng Kok on Friday? Does this means she is home or she has left the city in which Ryan was repoted to be seen in?

Ay information would help.

Thanks and everyone is in my toughts.

Hi Judy and David,
I saw that you were asking people to help with a writng campaign with Lao government officials. I don't think that a email campaign would be very effective and not that many official use email. However, a fax campaign will certainly get their attention. The Embassy should be able to help you find the fax numbers of the government offices. I think that the key one would be the Luang Namtha Governor's office. The fax number at the Luang Namtha telecommunciations office is +856-86-312-006. They will forward faxes to the governor's office. Note that this fax machine is only on during working hours to my knowledge.

To Ryan's family. Just to let you know there are so many more people helping to search for Ryan than you can know. My niece is teaching English in Deyang; knew Ryan and spoke very very highly of him; we are writing everyone & phoning; a Baptist minister will visit Thailand/Laos; leaving May 17/06; he knows many officials in both governments; I've given him Ryan's pictures and my sister has provided details; he is anxious to help. Hi,

I was an aquaintence of Ryan's at WWU. Ryan is (and you all are) in my prayers, and I'm doing my best to send letters/emails.
